Our earth box project involves three different phases of activities.During the first phase, students, teachers, parents, and community members willwork together to install our earth box garden. We will lay landscaping fabric and mulch to control weeds and create area for our garden.Once themulch is down, we will set up the earth boxes, rain barrels, and drip irrigation system.Students will learn how earth boxes, drip irrigation, rainbarrels, and mulch all conserve water and are best management practices..
Thanks Bruce. Seems that I can get away with a 1/2" supply line if I have 1/4" down spouts, with a limited number of buckets served. Itlooks like the earthbox kit uses a 1/4" supply with 1/8" down spouts (whips)..
Parents and other community members will be encouraged to participate in all phases of our project. The student created newsletters and fact sheetswill be shared with families and families will have the opportunity to tour the garden during school wide events..
